Primitive Folk Art ~ Chicks and Flowers ~ Wool Hooked Rug - Early Style ~

Just in time for spring, this one of a kind chicks and flowers rug was hooked on linen with all hand dyed wool I dyed myself.

Adapted from a Hickety Pickety pattern, this rug measures in at 21" x 12 1/4" and would look wonderful hanging on the wall as a piece of folk art. Lot's of old fashioned reds, creamy dark whites and both worn and punchy blues were used along with a nice blend of mustard yellow wool for the 2 chubby little chicks.

This rug totally has a one of a kind, primitive feel and I absolutely LOVE the way this rug turned out. Happy, is the word I would use to describe this piece.

Definitely a piece you can display year round from Valentines, to the Fourth of July to Christmas.
