Primitive Folk Art Wool Hooked Rug ~ Chalkware Chickens

Chalkware Chickens 28 1/2" x 20 1/2".

This rug was hooked on rug hooking linen using hand dyed wools I dyed myself in my home studio. The design is based on an antique rug I found in a book.

My wool strips are cut by hand, one at a time for a primitive, old fashioned look and feel.

The edges have been serged and simply folded over and stitched into place for a nice old fashioned look.
